The Outaouais Philanthropy Foundation (“OPF”) is a community foundation whose mission is to promote the development of a philanthropic culture in the Outaouais region, to strengthen the capacity for community development through innovative and effective methods, to collect and share knowledge and community needs to better address them, and to encourage initiatives that allow the Outaouais to reach its full potential.
In this context, OPF frequently collects and uses personal information to raise funds from individuals or organizations.
This Personal Data Privacy Policy (“Policy”) aims to inform the public about OPF’s practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of personal information.
Personal Information Collected
Personal information is data that, whether alone or combined with other information, can identify a person directly or indirectly, or sensitive information about the organization in which that person works.
The personal information collected by OPF is confidential. Therefore, only individuals who need to know this information or whose roles reasonably require knowledge of it have access. This information will be made public or disclosed to third parties in accordance with the limits established by this Policy or, in exceptional circumstances, after obtaining the express consent of the individuals concerned.

Collection of Personal Information
OPF collects personal information strictly through direct interaction, that is, when a person directly communicates with OPF to make a donation request or renewal or when a person accepts a position on its board of directors.
Disclosure of Personal Information
OPF discloses your personal information to third parties in the following circumstances:
- To its suppliers who help achieve the purposes for which the personal information was collected;
- To comply with obligations under a law or regulation, an investigation by a government authority, a subpoena, or a court or other administrative or government authority order;
- To a law enforcement agency or government body in the context of an investigation into real or potential fraud, a violation of law, regulation, or website terms of use, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of OPF.
OPF requires all third parties to respect the security of shared personal information and to process it in accordance with the law. Service providers are not authorized to use personal information for their own purposes, but only as directed by OPF.
Security Measures
OPF has adopted and is committed to maintaining the highest security standards to protect the information submitted, both during transmission and once received.
Appropriate physical, IT, and administrative measures have been put in place to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access, misuse, or any other illegal form of processing.
Measures have also been implemented to ensure that only those who need to know personal information or whose roles reasonably require it have access.
Retention of Personal Information
Personal information collected by OPF is retained until the purposes for which it was collected or used are accomplished.
The personal information provided to OPF is securely stored, both on its premises and on the servers of its service providers.
Personal information will only be retained as long as permitted or required by applicable laws and OPF’s internal data retention policies.
In certain circumstances, OPF may anonymize personal information so that it can no longer be associated with the individual concerned.
Google Analytics
OPF uses the Google Analytics service for its websites. This service is provided by Google Inc. (“Google”) Google Analytics uses cookies and other unique identifiers, which are anonymous identifiers placed on your computer. They help OPF analyze your use of the websites. Data collected on traffic by cookies and other unique identifiers includes your website usage (including your IP address), which will be transmitted and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google may disclose collected data to third parties in case of legal obligation or when a third party processes data on behalf of Google. No information that could identify you is transmitted to Google. Google will use the information collected to:

▪ Compile reports on website activity;
▪ Provide other services related to website activity and internet usage.
Consent
Any person providing personal information to OPF authorizes the collection, use, and disclosure of such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and as permitted or required by law.
Your Rights
Subject to certain exceptions, as authorized by law, any person has the following rights regarding their personal information held by OPF:
A. Right of access: the right to access their personal information held by OPF and to receive a general account of our use of such personal information. Upon receipt of a written request, OPF provides a copy of the personal information to the individual concerned, subject to the exceptions provided by law. In case of refusal, OPF commits to indicate the reasons supporting this refusal.
B. Right of rectification: the right to request correction of personal information that is incorrect or inaccurate. If applicable, these corrected personal information will also be provided to parties to whom OPF is authorized to disclose them.
C. Right to erasure: the right to request the deletion or removal of personal information in certain circumstances, for example, when OPF no longer needs the personal information to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, or upon withdrawal of consent. If applicable, OPF will take, where possible and if not disproportionately burdensome, the necessary steps to inform third parties to whom such information has been disclosed in accordance with this policy of the exercise of this right.
D. Right to withdraw consent: Any person may withdraw their consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information by OPF at any time. However, following the withdrawal of consent, OPF may no longer be able to respond to the individual’s requests, including processing donation requests.
Modifications
OPF reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time without notice. The Policy can be consulted at any time on its website. Any significant changes to the Policy will be subject to an update notice on OPF’s website and social media.
It is the responsibility of any person to regularly review the Policy and any changes made to it.
